In January this year, the European Commission announced its intention to develop a European Student Card as part of its Digital Education Action Plan. The Annual Meeting of the Groningen Declaration Network (GDN) in Paris in 18-20 April 2018 (one month before the Bologna Summit) provides a unique occasion to discuss the ins and outs of this idea, which fits well with the intentions of actors in other world regions to develop similar easily transmittable student records.

The Paris meeting of the Groningen Declaration Network gathers representatives of National Students Depositories worldwide who will advise their governments on the next steps in these data-sensitive dossiers.
