Groningen Declaration Network Newsletter, Vol. II/ii, Jan 2017

Preface from the Editorial Team
Happy New Year!
Warm regards from the Dissemination Task Force

As we look ahead to what this new calendar year might bring, we're eager to share many recent accomplishments that advance GDN's notion of defining "the future of digital student data portability" through our Making Waves Segment and our Task Force Updates. The Article 26 Backpack Initiative provides a timely example of the "universal applicability to the needs of vulnerable and non-vulnerable students alike."

Frankly, it's challenging to keep up with the flurry of activity around the commitment that "global citizens should be able to consult and share their authentic educational data with whomever they want, whenever they want, wherever." Several GDN colleagues (Simone Ravaioli, Jim Kelly and Victoriano Giralt) have courageously drafted an unfolding tree of interested organizations. Be sure to have a look at their work in progress!

As interest in the Groningen Declaration Network grows, we're seeking competent colleagues from around the world to share their time and talent to advance GDN's ideals. In particular, please contact Cheryl DarrupBoychuck if you'd like to volunteer on our Dissemination Task Force.

Finally, we encourage you to register for the 2017 Annual Meeting in Melbourne! Take advantage of the Early Bird Rate through Friday, 3 Feb 2017.
