As already reported, the Groningen Declaration Network incorporated on 20 December 2016 as a foundation under Dutch private law. This ushered in a new era. On the basis of Article 7, Clause 2 in the new statutes, the former executive committee was allowed to keep functioning while assuming the name of Board of Directors. The Board of Directors then decided to slightly enlarge itself, by letting in three new members to replace the ones that had already stepped down last year, bringing the total number of board members to ten. These ten directors then elected four from among themselves to form the Executive Board.
As a result, the composition of the GDN Board of Directors as elected in March 2017 is as follows:
Executive Board
- Chair: Victoriano Giralt, CIO, University of Málaga, Spain
- Vice-chair: Mike Reilly, Executive Director, American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, USA
- Secretary: Valère Meus, Coordinator, Erasmus without Paper Consortium, Belgium
- Treasurer: Neil Robinson, Deputy Head, University Services and Registrar, University of Melbourne, Australia
General Members of the Board of Directors
- Amee Shroff, Head - International Relations, Central Depository Services (India) Limited, India
- João Bacelar, Project Manager in Charge of Policy Innovation, European University Foundation, Luxembourg
- Tom Black, Associate Vice Provost and University Registrar, Student and Academic Services, Stanford University, USA
- Rick Torres, President and CEO, National Student Clearinghouse, USA
